• Swim between the red and yellow flags at Mission Beach and South Mission Beach Surf Club; lifesavers patrol daily, typically 8:30 am–5 pm.
• During stinger season (November–May), wear protective stinger suits and stay inside the stinger nets.
• Beware of crocodiles: avoid murky creeks, rivers and beaches at dawn or dusk; obey all warning signs.
• Unpatrolled beaches at South Mission and Bingil Bay: swim with care and consider conditions before entering the water.
